Eugene Park is partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, and represents private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, and alternative capital providers with a focus on stressed and distressed private credit, highly structured preferred equity, and liability management transactions. Eugene’s representative matters include representing (1) Envision Healthcare Corporation in a series of landmark liability management transactions involving drop-down financings, intercompany loans, and uptier amendments which raised over $1.6 billion of new liquidity and reduced funded debt by over $1 billion on a cashless basis and (2) Bed Bath & Beyond on a $375 million new money FILO financing to fund the company’s operational turnaround efforts. Prior to joining Kirkland, Eugene was on the investment team of Brigade Capital Management and a restructuring associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Eugene holds degrees from The University of Chicago Law School and Syracuse University.
