Jung Choi

General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Boxed

Jung Choi is General Counsel & Secretary at Boxed. She serves as a member of the senior executive team and is responsible for all legal and compliance matters, including corporate and securities law, corporate governance, litigation, commercial transactions, employment and intellectual property. She also serves as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors and its committees.

Most recently, Jung served as Vice President, Assistant General Counsel & Assistant Secretary at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. (SBD), a diversified global provider of hand and power tools, industrial applications, and healthcare solutions. She served as a key member of the senior leadership team with responsibility over public company reporting and securities regulation, corporate governance, executive compensation and the SBD’s Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) shareholder engagement strategy. She also oversaw the Global Ethics and Compliance department and the Global Privacy Office. In addition, Jung directly supported the SBD board and its committees.

Prior to joining SBD, Jung worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, a global biopharmaceutical company, where she was responsible for public company reporting, capital markets transactions, corporate governance and ESG.

Jung began her legal career as a corporate associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York and Hong Kong. Jung received her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, and her B.A. in Political Science and International Studies, cum laude, from Yale University.

Jung is a recipient of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Best Under 40 Award, is a fellow for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and has served in several leadership positions for the Society of Corporate Governance and the Asian American Bar Association of New York. Jung regularly speaks on securities law, governance, ESG and other legal topics.
