Emily Ching is originally from New York City and received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Public Relations from Syracuse University, and a JD from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She joined the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in 2003. In her current role as a line assistant, she handles investigations and prosecutions involving homicides and violent felonies and adult sex crimes. She has experience with cases involving human trafficking and domestic violence cases, and was assigned to the Child Abuse Bureau between 2010 and 2012. She served as her bureau’s Criminal Court Supervisor between 2013 and 2014. In 2020, she was appointed in a dual role as the Deputy Chief of the Elder Abuse Unit. She supervises and provides support in the investigation and prosecution of cases involving victims ages 60 years and older that are being handled by line assistants in the Trial and Special Victims Divisions.
