Ruth Arnould is Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at Bank of America in New York. Ms. Arnould has been an attorney in Bank of America’s fixed income legal group since 2013. She currently leads the global markets legal department’s coverage of credit derivatives, futures, clearing and financial market infrastructure globally and heads the coverage of interest rate derivatives in the US. Prior to these roles, Ms. Arnould was the global coordinator for Latin American with respect to all fixed income derivatives.
Ms. Arnould also served as the Chair of the Derivatives and Structured Products Committee of the New York State Bar Association and is currently serving as the President of the Futures Industry Association’s Law & Compliance Executive Committee. She is a frequent speaker at ISDA, FIA, ABA and SIFMA conferences on clearing and derivatives issues. In 2020, she co-authored a chapter of “OTC Derivatives Regulation Under Dodd Frank: A Guide to Registration, Reporting, Business Conduct and Clearing”. She was also named as a “Rising Star” in Global Derivatives by Derivatives Week.
Ms. Arnould was in private practice advising on derivatives and complex structured finance transactions in New Zealand, Australia and London before moving to New York and joining Bank of America. She received a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) and Bachelors of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She is admitted as a solicitor in New York, New Zealand, New South Wales, Australia and England and Wales.
